Ironically it was about midnight, after a set at Mangos, a half a dozen members of the crew were outside the club, trying to find something to do.
I met up with some of the other members at a nearby cafe.
Inside the cafe, Alan "Spirit" Page, another MC, and Joe Villa, an MC, broke down the entire crew and all the sub-groups. "When we make an album, it's gonna be an Amphibians label. It doesn't matter if it's Khemistry or In Shallah or whoever. It's all Amphibians."
After awhile Joe Villa broke off. "Yo, I'm not feeling this vibe," he said
referring to the bar's atmosphere. This was my first time in this cafe, and
their were only around 15 black heads male and female in the place, but it was probably more than the cafe usually sees, "Who picked this place?" Joe asked.
Roundtree, a vocalist of the group, was staring off in space it seemed.
"You alright, man?" I asked him jokingly. Roundtree was a thinker; I could tell just as he snapped back into our cypher.
"I was just analyzing this place," he said, "See, the bartender lady there is making settle comments about us to her regular patrons. She glances over here
slightly and then smiles at the guy sitting at the bar. They must not get
many of us around here."
"Fuck them," I replied, "We're here, we're paying money for our drinks and we're
talking. We're not disturbing anybody. Obviously they have psycological problems so let them deal with it."
"True," Joe Villa said, "But, let's go outside."
